I just picked up a used 04 prairie with only 23 miles on the odometer. I paid 5000 for it otd from a dealer in Oregon.
I had never ridden a 700 but had spent some time on a p650. All I can say is that I'm very impressed. It wheelies in high range with no help from the rider other than an aggressive thumb. My wolverine would pull nice wheelies but took some muscle. My wife has already told me that I had better not "scuff or scratch HER bike" I'm glad that she likes it and will be getting myself a more sport oriented bike in the near future. Until then I'll be borrowing her v-twin

LOL....
I have a lot of love for both utilities and sport quads.
There's times when I want to stay clean and ease around or maybe hit some tough 4x4 terrain and then there are times when I want to catch some air or fly down a dirt road.
I guess its the best of both worlds when you can talk you wife into a big bore 4x4 and then get a open class sport bike for yourself. Anytime that she doesn't want to go riding gives me a nice choice between the two. I do agree with you; if I can only own 1 bike it would have to be a 4x4.
