Default Brute force performance.

I am wondering what kinds of things can be done to get a little more go out of an 06 bruteforce. My buddy has an dyna ignition and was looking to buy an exhaust system, is there any particular kind that is working well? What other kinds of things could be done?

well you really want some power! not enough there already? other than the dyna CDI there is the VDI (velocity devices) its programmable with their optional software. i dont have a pipe but there are a few out there: LRD Torque, Muzzy, HMF Utility, or HMF Penland system. i would think they are all about the same performance wise. there is a K & N filter or a Twin Air power kit. ther are the low end changes that can be made(degree key, moose module, or highlifter module) but all of those would be cancelled out by a aftermarket CDI. hey, you could always go for the bigbore 840 kit!!!!!

Short of getting into the motor I would say definately the cdi. Dyna or VDI both offer good units with the VDI being programmable but also more $$. Also you could put dual intake snorkles in your airbox. I don't personally know of a brute that has this mod but it was very popular on the prairies. Of course a jet kit will help out. I run a dynojet kit and it has been worth the money. As you mentioned exhaust is another good performance mod. I run a pennland race series full exhaust set up. I friend runs a hmf slipon like I used to. Just my opinion but if your gonna spend the money go ahead and get the full system. Also a clutch kit or a primary spring change will be to your benifit. I personally run a red epi primary because I do alot of drag racing. For $20-$25 you can't hardly go wrong. There are many different springs so find the one that best suits your riding style. If you do all of that and it's still not enough you can give boondocker a call for a nitrous system. I've been running mine for about 6 months with no problems and I love it. Well that's about all I can think of without getting into the motor. But, then again, that's where the real power is.
