KFX 400 Spindle Shaft
Hey people what's up?
I'm obviously new to these boards, so i outta introduce myself before requesting help from you ATV Gurus. My names JP, and I ride a 04 KFX400. Pretty much stock, other than the Nerfs and skidplates, and tires. My problem is this.
I hit a tree goin 50mph. It sucked, big time. Fortonetly, there was minimal damage to the KFX, where that the left wheel took most of the impact. I had to repace the rim, and my rotar is tweaked a slight bit, which i will have surfaced, but I am baffeled as to how I replace the obviously out-of-wack spindle shaft. I have ordered the new parts, but I can't figure out how to get the old one from out the spindle. Any ideas? Should I just bang on it with a hammer?

When I crashed my KFX I did the same thing. The spindle bent. I went to my local atv shop an ordered a whole new knuckle for like $150.00 or something around there, later to find out i could have just bought the spindle for $65.00. If you buy the spindle at lonestar racing www.lsracing.com i think you will need to get it machined in an if yours is already bent just hammer it out cuz theres no saving it.
hope that helps.

Ahh. Well I work at a machine shop, and we have an arbor press that may work. Anyway, I just put my new rims on yesterday without the spindel and it doesnt wobbloe at all. I came across one major problem though, my frame is bent all to hell It appears as though the A-Arm took the impact, and transfered it right into the frame, pushing it in on itself. Sucks. But it still rides smooth.
