Default 360 performance issues

my 360 has become very sluggish ... difficult to idle ... cutting out when travelling and coming to a stop. this is rather frustrating. any thing i can try before going to the dealer .... I've changed the plug and cleaned the air filter???????

Try adjusting your valves on the high side of the recommended tolerance.

Same here, adjust the valves. My acting like it was starving for power and got worse and worse finally wouldn't start!

I bought a service manual and did it myself. I think you remove the fuel tank and maybe a inner fender splash shield. Also remove a side cover access plug to view the crank timing. Use the pull start cord to turn motor over to TDC. Remove the valve covers and and then use a metric feeler gauge. The feeler gauge is hard to find and I under stand if you need to adjust the valves this can take some trial and error due to lock nut, tighting the lock nut will cause the adjustment to change somethings.
But overall it is pretty easy, I'll never pay to have it done again.
