2002 Prarie Tranny Noise?

Not really
I've had mine for 4 years now and am just now having trouble with the drive bushing/bearings. In fact the dealer didn't even have the removal tool required to remove the bushing. Keep in mind the bushing / bearing is not lubed at all since it is in the belt drive area, it also gets dust etc brought in via the snorkel. ???wonder if you could put a filter on the end of snokel without effecting the cooling for the belt drive. Bottom line there isn't a real good way that I can think of to lube the bushing or bearing and this will insure failure at some point. I'd take cover off and blow it out on a regular basis if riding in dusty conditions.
When the 360/650 first came out in 2002 there were unoffical problems with the design of the belt itself, wrong angle etc.
It took them about 9 monthes to come out with what they now use, which is the 700 belt. Since then my trans / belt has worked just fine up until this bushing failure. I have no idea how many hours I've rode since I bought it. No hour meter.

I can describe the noise better. When the motor is not running, and it is in gear, and you rock it back and forth, there is a little play, I think it could be normal. Its the same when I am driving it, when you let off the gas, then go again there is the smalest amount of play untill the quad cathes up with it coasting, then it goes, like I said its just a little bit of play, its like driving along in your manual tranny truck at 35mph in 5th gear, coasting, then hitting the gas. the spped of the truck has to catch up with the high gear.

I have had 3 Prairies and no problems with any of them. Keep your mind open - what do you ride? I'm pretty sure it has it's problems. But man, 5,000 miles, sheave keeper fell off, cut the Prairie some slack here.

I wasn't having a one-sided thought or anything, and right now I don't ride anything. But i'm trying to get the downlow on all wheelers i'm interested in. And i'm seriously interested in the BF"s and the Praires. Thanks for the info.
