moving from the kfx700 to the kfx400
I curently ride a kfx700 it was my first quad. I have had it for about 2 years now and had alot of trouble with it like a messed up throttle, clutch problems, wires frayed becuase of rubbing on the frame, and just a bunch of right werid noses. Iam super close to get rid of it for a kfx 400 because i am only 17 years old, 140lbs. There is pros and cons about each bike and i just havnt had good experiances with the v force. I have talked around and the worst thing someone has told about the 400 is they lost reverse once and other then that its a awsome ride. I also noticed that after market parts for the 700 are about double the price of 400 parts.
I just want to know some pros and cons of making this switch in bikes.

if u switch good call. so u know, the whole corroding issue idk if i believe it or not cuz ive had my 05 kfx for a full year an no problem with it. the 400 is just as fast as the 700 except the 70-0 tops out a few mph more. accel wise they are like damn close. everytime i ride i ride with my 400 an my buddy got a 700. ive ridden both an like the 400 hands down way better bike. the 400 s like 150 lbs less too which means its whippier an handles better. and btw if i had to buy a new quad again it would def be a kfx/z 400 even over all them 450s. good luck wit ur decision though

I had the dealer check my clutch cover on the last day of warranty. Mine was fine. You'll love the kfx/z. I put the big gun +1200 rpm cdi with the advanced timing curve, and boy what a difference. It added more power than the pipe. That cdi, high flow air filter, and a pipe should be your first mods. Unless you're going for practicality, then it should be skids, (22")tires, then those mods. I did all my mods at the same time. Well, I got the parts at the same time. I put the cdi on first, and then took it for a ride and even with the rest stock it was an incredible difference.
PS Don't forget to go one tooth down in the front and one up in the rear when you go to 22's. Check out my list of fairly simple minor mods. It makes it an awesome trail machine.
