How to do Valve adjustments
#1
It has been recommended that I adjust the valves on my KVF 360 to the high side to improve performance.. next question???????
How do I go about adjusting the valves??? Is there some easy way of doing this????
I am not blessed with mechanical talents. should I bring it to a dealer
Thanks for everyone's help

Chances are you will be removing the fuel tank and maybe front plastic...then popping the recoil pull start cover off or whatever to find a timing mark to get top dead center...next you pop the caps off above the valves...you should be on the compression stroke.....stick the feeler guage between the top of the valve and bottom of the rocker arm and gap it in the specs for your bike using the nut to tighten or loosen the gap.... tighten the lock nut and put it back together....
PS..Get the service manual or have it done by a mechanic

Another helpful tip is the use the "angled" feeler gauge instead of the straight ones. The space at the valve cap opening area is quite limited and the straight one is little difficult to manuver around. Also, 360 seems to need quite more attention on the valve adj than other Kawi bikes. Once you do it, then you will have the confidence to do it for the rest of your life.
