Default V-Force Valve Adjustment

I have never had the valves checked on my 04 V force and it has about 2000 miles on it. Is there a symptom when the valves need done or do you just have to check and see? I am going to have the dealer do it next week, I hope I didnt wait to long and mess something up. Also what size jets do you think I will need after installing Yoshimura Duals? I have a K&N filter and live at 5300 ft above sea level. Any input would help.

Typical symptoms would be hard starting, unstable idling, engine stallling, etc. Then, eventually, valves hammering into the valve seat of the head - will need 3-angle job of the valve seat area on the head, or a new head.
