im thinking about investing in this 435 kit and i like the fact that there is no machining involved its just a bolt on....anyone have any info on this product? pros&cons? and would i have to invest in a larger carb?? thank you

ive ridden on a kfx 440 and i honestly think that my yoshimura exhaust gave it much more power. I would go with a full exhaust system and an airlid before you go messing with the motor.

with most of these kits you have to have the pipe and stuff anyway - it is reccomended by athena and others.

who makes a 440 kit now? they are all over for the 400ex... but the kfx/z, i can only find a vendor like athena that does the 435, yoshi does the 450 (which cost allot) and tudors or someone does a 470...cant find direct pricing and info on the 440? is it that much of a difference from a 435/440 to a 450 kit from yoshi? i know them yoshi 450s haul @ss...

what cams do you guys run with these kits? hotcams stage II? seems like the most popular...

The secret to making the Athena motors run at their full potential is to have the head ported by a reputable builder. Getting the head to flow more efficiently will bring out it's true power. Definitely need a carb, cams, ignition, pipe, intake, etc. I sold my Athena Z to my brother and it beats piped and cam modded YFZ's no problem. I have a Yoshi 450 and it runs real strong. A little slower revving then the Athena but still beats YFZ's quite handily.

Well, I was intending to race more this year but my 16 month old son has changed my plans. I don't need a track bike right now. My Yoshi Z450 will fill the spot just fine. Doesn't handle like my LT-R but will spank it in the motor department.
