Default Is my CDI Bad???

Hello,
I have a 04 KFX400 and just rebuild the steering stem bushings, seals ect. I also changed the sproket to a 13 tooth and modded the airbox, oil change, plug ect. I put it all back together and tried to start it. It turned over maybe 2-3 times and then stopped. Now when I hit the started button all I hear is the starter switch click. I am thinking that the CDI is bad. I hooked an amp meter to the CDI plug and the voltage raises when I press the start button. Since the CDI is around $100.00 and is not returnable because it's electrical I was wondering if you thought my CDI was bad. Is there anyway to test my CDI? When I plug the CDI in my oil light will come on and when I unplug it the oil light will go off so I am kinda confused whether it is working or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.....

You need to check your starting system, not the CDI........I am not sure of the setup on the KFX400 but check the starter relay and the starter for power
