Dynatek VS Copperhead
#2
Either one will work well on a P700.
The main difference is that the Dyna CDI is not programmable and the Copperhead VDI is. If you are going to go into the engine and do mods you would probably want the VDI so you could customize your maps. Alot of racers and other people use the VDI so they can program different maps for different tracks and different conditions.
There have been some complaints about the VDI not mixing with water very well right now. This will be fixed on the newer versions coming out.
The Dyna CDI is some where around $200 and the VDI is a little over $300. The new VDIs coming out that are going to have the water issue fixed are going to be even more.
I recently just put a Dyna CDI on my bike. I could not justify the extra $100+ for the ability to progam, especially when I don't know how. It took all of about 3 min to install and it really woke the bike up. the mis-rabe power is like a diffeent bike.
Search around on H-L or Kawierideres and there are some articles out there about the Dyna CDI vs the Copperhead VDI from KOD and some other respected atv people where they actually put their bikes on dynos and looked at the difference from that stand point.
