Has anyone had their swing arm extended or puchased an extended swing arm for their mojave? It would be nice to increase the wheel-base about 4" This is the only area I wish Kawasaki would change right away! Bryan

4Tecate, Thanks for replying. I was told a while back that the Lakota sw. arm would work, just too bad that the only gain is 1". Moving the A-arms up 1" in sounds very expensive for very little gain in wheelbase. Does anyone have an idea how much this costs? Has anyone had this done to their quad? The wheelbase on my brothers 400ex is about 4" longer and he can climb hills that would be hard for a mojave just to go down because of the short wheelbase! Take care, Bryan

I put a 400 2 stoke in a Mohave frame. I added 6 inches to the swing arm myself.I cut it apart at the bearing housing and made the extentions out of square tubing same size as the swing arm. I machined sleeves to fit snugly into the inside of the tube to increace strength so it won't bend or brake at the weld.Radius the end to fit the axel bearing housing .Be sure to mig weld it so it will look good as well as be strong. I have had no problems with it to date. The 400 will surprize em since the plastic still says Mohave....

I added 2 inches to my Mojave swing arm in much the same way as Z71 describes. Any competent welding shop should be able to handle the job with no problem. Look for one that does race car fab work for best results. If you plan to ride in the woods and tight stuff do not go to long. 2 inches seems about perfect to me, 3 inches is probably the limit for good tight handling. if you are building a drag racer or hill shooter that would be different, but rarely is a Mojave chosen for these unless you stick in a 400 2 stroke like Z71. I am currently putting a 500 Ninja motor in a Mojave but don't know what i will do with it when i'm finished. Hey Z71 what do you do with that Mojave you built? Just drag race or do you have dunes nearby? I don't have any good drag places or dunes near me so I'm going to make a stab at making it handle decent.
