I'm new to Kawasaki and the 700 seems to be the only sport quad big bore 2WD automatic available.
A dealer has a 2004 model leftover and that's what makes me wonder, why? Is $5,000 too much? Are there any significant changes between the 04 and 06 model?

I'm not sure, but I don't think there are any significant changes. I rode my Father's KFX700 for the 1st time last weekend and I was very impressed. The park I rode at had a drag strip and I won about 19 out of 25 or so races against 450Rs, YFZs, Raptor 660s etc. The only machine that beat me every time was a Raptor 700. But I got my Pops an HMF exhaust for Father's Day, so hopefully we can take the Rappy 700 next time. $5000 seems fair if it is in good shape and includes a warranty.

I was wondering why a brand new one would still be at a dealership? There isn't a huge price difference compared to the 06. It does come with the factory warranty. My wife will be driving it so I hope she isn't faster than my DS650. That would suck.

I don't know...it might be close. My Father sold his '03 DS Baja for the KFX700. I didn't race a DS that day, but Im sure it would be a close race. People say that the KFX700 is corked up from the factory and that an exhaust, intake, and clutch mod make them faster than anything else. If you get it for your wife, just make sure you leave it stock and she probably won't beat you!

LOL, I would keep it stock, maybe even disconnect a spark plug wire.

1bad250r, I like your golf cart. Fill in the #3 and it becomes #8. Almost scary circumstance. We paint the #8 on our dog when we go to Vegas and Phoenix Nascar. He becomes a chic magnet.

that fact is very true, although stock you can anihilate most sports on the trail because of the huge amount of torque / auto.

@budman if you keep the races short she will beat you if it's stock the DS650 has the top speed but will only be able to beat the V in a longer race, once you mod the V a bit you're hopeless

The DS will smoke a KFX hands down moded or not. I can beat my kfx every time. Don't get me wrong I like them both but the DS is better. Your wife will love the KFX my doughter loves hers
