KFX 700 tie rod removal and instalation
#3
Well, I don't have that model, but they are mostly similar. First, remove the outer tie rod end from the hub assembly(for lack of a better term right now.) The next step is to remove the end from the tie rod itself. Very important, count the number of turns it takes to get the end off, and write it down so you don't forget. Now, the tie rod itself should unscrew from the other end. Again, carefully count the number of turns it takes to come off. Generally, the tie rod will have a flattened spot to put a wrench on, btw. If you are replacing old with stockers, or same length aftermarket, then just use the turn ##'s you wrote down removing the old ones to tighten the new ones on. If you don't use the same numbers, your alignment can get off pretty easy. Heck, your alignment might not be correct anyway, but you should be pretty close. Good luck, it is a pretty easy job usually.
