dyna cdi for bf 650i?
#1
are there any gains to be had from a dyna cdi (or moose or copperhead) for a brute force 650i? it seems to me they are tuned well from the factory. that's a big reason they are as fast as the 750. i can DEFINITELY see buying it for a 750 but is it as worth it on the 650i?

The Dyna is a very good product. You will see a very noticable gain in power. One thing that I also like about it is that it takes out the limiter in reverse. At first I wasn't that crazy about the idea but now I love it. The Dyna was my choice after owning the Moose module and wanting more.
Moose Module only takes out the factory retarded timing up to maybe 10mph, but only cost $90 and can be found for $50 used.
The Dyna advances your timing by 5 degrees, lets you rev higher, and takes out teh limiter on the reverse. You will see noticable gains down low, and a strong mid range pull and top end. It costs around $200.
The Copperhead VDI does what the dyna does but also allows you to customize your own maps. The bew ones run about $400.

I'm not sure if it is the Dyna making the 650i run cooler or what..I know that my 650i runs a lot cooler than my 750 did. It might be because of the new exhaust or it may be because of the Dyna...One thing for certain, you will be able to tell a difference in power with the Dyna installed.
