KFX400 dead?
#1
Alright, I'm not a big Kawi follower but am interested in buying a KFX400 from a nearby dealer who is running rediculous specials on these bikes right now. My wife rides a TRX250ex right now and is now skilled enough that she needs a bigger bike. We've checked out most of the 400 models and like the Kawi best so far. My main question is why are they discontinuing these bikes and if I do buy one, will it be harder to find parts and mods for them because of the manufacturer discontinuation?
I don't wanna drop a large amount of money on a bike to have it kick me in the *** later.
Thanks for any information.

The KFX 400 and the Z400 are the same quad. Kawasaki and suzuki had a partnership than ran out at the end of 06 and they couldnt come to terms again so no more KFX 400. As far as parts, the Z400 will still be out so parts will not be a problem.

Just bought one 2 weeks ago.
Look on the frame below the clutch cover. Made by Suzuki. If the Kawi dealer doesn't have the part, the Zuk dealer will.

Just curious what they consider rediculous on pricing. Down here, the Zuk dealer lost a sale cause he wouldn't go below the msrp on a 05 model Z. Kawi dealer was 1 dollar over msrp on the OTD price of an 06. Had another dealer in central Texas making an awesome deal on an 05 Z, but just liked the orange KFX better.
Anyone in Texas looking to buy a Z, pm me and I'll give the dealer info. Sorry, pricing you have to work out on your own.

Ridiculous price meaning they are posting at $4,900 but you will definately be able to haggle them down some. Most dealer sites are posting the MSRP around $5,900 or so. Plus it's Oregon so there's no sales tax.

Yeah, I figured they were trying to unload em as fast as they can. We're gonna sell my Banshee and get the wife a new KFX400. I'm gonna end up putting the Recluse centrifugal clutch on it for her.
