Default auxiliary battery

i have a 2004 bayou 250 4x2, and would like to add an auxiliary battery. have any of you ever done this? I have a winch, and do not relish the idea of getting stuck where I have to use a winch, then not having power to start my bike. I hunt, and am sometime 10-15 miles away from camp. Ideas??

No expert on these things, but you should be leaving the engine running while you are winching, and i figure that the 10-15 miles will charge up the battery pretty good by the time you get home.

I don't think the idea of an auxiliary battery is a bad idea, just not a convenient one.

I feel the same as alexcue. I would leave my quad running. I know on regular winches that go on full size trucks they may pull alot of current but I hope these ATV winches are designed for the size battery/alternators installed from the factory.
