KFX 700 - Rolling Resistance in Neutral
#1
I just bought this bike this last weekend, and it runs out pretty, but we noticed that in neutral it is pretty tough to get it rolling.
Granted, they are heavy, and are shaft driven, what could be causing this resistance (what should I be looking at)?
I just went to a dealership and saw another 04 exactly like mine, and it rolled easier. They don't normally roll like a chain/sprocket bike, but I don't think they should be this tough to move. I checked the parking brake, it doesn't appear to be that.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

montyh, I think he was talking about the kfx 700 which is not a 4x4. The problem is most likely over tightened brake adjustments. Try backing off the adjustments a few turns and see what happens. Good luck..

It's a V-Force, so just 2WD... I did notice that it was harder when steering, but our tire pressure seems to be fine, and it rides fine as well.
I just wondered if there was anything in the drive system that I should check, like the belt, or maybe the fluid in the shaft drive assembly.
How often should the shaft drive oil be changed? I wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't ever been changed in this bike.
