A friend of mine got stuck and his intake swallowed up some muddy mucky water, with the belt getting all wet. My question is....Can you loosen the belt housing cover and flush it out with a hose after getting muddy water in the housing? If so will this help or hurt the belt area? Finally will the housing cover seal back by tightening the screws back or will it leak forever after its emoved for the first time?

I've opened mine up before and it sealed back just fine. The best bet would be to take off the cover and clean the inside with a wet rag. That way you could see when it was clean and wouldn't be pushing excess water where it doesn't belong.
