Default Finally lined em' up.

I finally got the chance for my buddies to come out and do some riding last night. One of my buds has an 06 Raptor 700, and the other has a piped 03 Piped 6660 raptor. When we raced them we ran about 600 feet on a meadow. I can beat the rappy 700 for about 400 feet and then that things screams. I was very impressed with the way that raptor came flying by at the 400 ft mark. But in a short drag I could beat it. The rappy 660 wasnt much of a challenge, it doesnt run anything like to 700, but at least he tried. Both the 700 rappy and my V left the 660 from start to finish. It was fun, and I did learn just how dang fast the new raptor 700s are. Nice bike.

The rappy 700's are no joke. I thought my V with all the bolt on stuff would stay ahead of the 700 rappy but I was wrong. I got tired of getting beat so I had to go with a big bore kit. Well worth the money!

How much did your bore kit cost and how hard was it to put on? I would like to do it someday but im not sure if I am a good enough mechanic to do it. Your right though, the raooy 700 are no joke, very impressive bike.

I bought the kit out of Canada from Ray Fundy of Fundy powersports. It cost about $1100.00 + a $300 core charge for the stock cams which you get back. I had never been very deep into a motor before and was kinda scared to do this myself but I bought a shop manual which had a breakdown of where all the parts go and it didn't look all that complicated. It took about 3 weekends worth of working between beers to get it finished. You do have to take your cylinders in to a machine shop to get them bored out to the size of the new pistons. After getting it all back together, I cranked it up and was pretty proud that I was able to accomplish this. I finally got the jetting right "had to go WAY up in jetting thanks to the new cams" and took it straight to the place me and my cousin ride. He has the rappy 700. We lined them up and I was suprised at how easilly the KFX would pull away from the Rappy from pulling the holeshot to pulling away from him while he was in top gear. I could actually give him a 50 foot head start and not even go till he was in 3rd gear and could catch up and pass him easilly. Like I said in an earlier post. Well worth the money.
