Help! 04 P700 low end sputter??
#1
New to the forums and need some help with my 04 P700!
The machine is stock!
The problem is at low speeds of 5-10 mph under no load (Going straight or slightly down hill) it sputters and pops through the exhaust.
If you hammer it, it accelerates great, there is no hesitation. If I head it up hill and put it under a load at the 5-10 mph the popping is much less?
I tried pulling the choke on partially, nothing happens then it almost dies.
I have aprox 350 more or less miles on it and had to replace the rear spark plug 2 times. 1st time it just flat missed bad and the plug change cured it.
2nd time it ran but sputtered sporadically (No special rpm). Now it only seems to sputter at no load, low speed?
I also reset the belt light just recently. It seems to run hot as well?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Mike.

Check following:
1). Choke cable routing - make sure the plungers (at the end of the cable in the carbs) are ACTUALLY closing all the way when you shut off the choke lever. Since you said you had plug fouling problem on the rear hole, I suspect the choke plunger is sticking there. You can watch plungers closing/open after removing some parts around there.
2). Intake leak
3). Exhaust leak, especially where two pipes go into the muffler.
