Tires or Rims and Tires?

Tires or Rims and Tires?
Ok, I know this is a over-discussed topic, but I have some questions about wheels and tires. I have a 06' BF750. I love it and I haven't really noticed any stability problems. I actually feel more comfortable on it than my 05' Kodiak. I read how rims and tires add some stability to these machines. Is it actually the tire or the offset of the aftermarket rims that accomplishes this. I would like to get some different tires, my buddies have XTR's and I like them alot. Just trying to decide whether or not I want to spend the extra $300 for rims also. I can see how a radial tire would resist flexing on the rim better than a bias-ply. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Factory rims are light weight aluminum even though they may look boring. Get a magnet and try to stick them. Any added, especially unsuspended, weight will adversely affect handling/acceleration of the vehicle. Radial tires make a huge (+) difference and are strongly recommended.
