HELP!!
Sorry, had a brain fart. The intake is by the handle bars. Fuel tank is by rear fender. My appologies. Yes it was water/mud to the top of tires and i checked the seal, and it looked fine. It is the original air filter. Have any suggestions on any others. K & N? The sad thing is, a bomb (Can Am), Honda, Polaris, and a Cat were driving through the same things I was, and no probs. I can't live with a Polaris or Ski Doo beating out my Kawi. I do need to mention that the Can Am did have belt slipping problems later though!! Just had to throw that out there.

HELP!!
Hello Folks,
Let me clairify something for our Kawi riders.
As far as I know BF750 is the only model with this intake weakness, not others. Yes, the throats to the carbs may look same but that's not the point here. It is how the water/mud get into the airbox. That's where the difference is. See, other smaller cc Kawi quads have a different design that does not let water/mud in. For 750 owners, you don't have to have those ugly PVC pipes sticking up ruining the fine look of the machine. Using a flexible tubing, you just have to route it somewhere to the handlebar area. The idea here is to raise the intake height AND to deflect debris kicked up by front wheels. No, I have not done this, just an idea...

HELP!!
Hayashi, I want to really thank you for all your help. My brother in law and I were trying to figure out how to
do that ourselves, because I agree with you, I don't want those ugly pvc pipes coming out of my fenders.
are you talking about the drains for the intake or jimmying something to actually go over that big honkin hole
in the front of the intake? part of the problem was that my drains got clogged also, which caused water to build up
inside the air intake and carbs. Kinda wondering about air flow problems after adding tubing? Also, a thought about
K & N air filter? I have stock now.

HELP!!
The intake re-routing I am referring to is to the inlet of tne air box. If you will be submerging your quad, whatever you do must be water-tight (requires more engineering mind). If not, then it just has to deflect the spalshing kicked up by front wheels and doesn't have to be water-tight.
Intake drian holes clogged?
I am not sure if I understand which one you are talking about. The only drain that I know is at the bottom of the air box with rubber hose that's flat at the end - I call it "duck beak". It is supposed to open (flat end opens up by the pressure) when water builds up in the air box.
Just installing an aftermarket air filter is not going to give you extra power. Power comes from air AND fuel. You will need to rejet the carbs. This is simple to experiment. Just remove the air box lid and the stock air filter, so carbs are completely open to atmosphere and you can get all the air in the world you want. Now, on clean road / no dust / like front of your driveway, try to gun your quad real hard with open air box lid and no air filter for . See what kind of acceleration you may get. I think a stock 750 makes enough power for me and my priority is the longevity of the machine and that's where I concentrate - strict maintenance.

HELP!!
Hayashi that drain at the bottom of the air box is what I'm talking about. The dealer said that it was clogged and that's what made the carbs get dirty, becasue everything backed up and had no where to go. I was trying to figure out how that got clogged myself. Not only did the dealer say that, but now he's saying that he has to contact Kawi to see if they'll fix the possible engine damage done. Last thing I knew, they were checking the compression. As far as the air filter question, I was only wondering if you thought that might help a wee bit on the dirt and crap getting in. Was wondering if you still had factory air filter on. I'm not really to worried about getting more power right now, just want to take care of the problem at hand (intake), if you know what I mean.
Thanks again
