Default Hi Everyone!

It's fully automatic, continuously variable transmission.

Not sure if you're just starting but if you are the KFX700 can be a handful because it is a big, heavy machine. Now it is also very fast with lots of hop up potential to make it scary fast.

Default Hi Everyone!

Like ajd said, with the cvt style tranny, you put the quad in either forward or reverse and you are done shifting. The 700 is a sport quad, is that what you are after? If so, most sport quads are a true manual, meaning you need to pull in a clutch to shift. Most motorcycle/atv manual trannies will accept a fair amount of shifting without clutch usage (much more than a car tranny), but it DOES eventually lead to premature failure. Honda is the only manufacturer that makes a "tiptronic" tranny. It is only found on their utes though, and you have to use the buttons to switch gears. There is no manual clutch and you do get a backup foot shifter for emergency use only. There are a few companies out making an auto clutch conversion for many popular manual sport quads. With these you can shift with your foot only or also use the clutch.
