I got tired of working on my Polaris so I bought me a 2002 Prairie 300. Its looks to be in great shape and got it for a great price. (in pics).

I was looking to see if anyone could tell me the best place to buy a winch and mounting plate for the quad.

Hi, I dont know where the best place to but a winch is but what a clean prairie, is it a 4x4? You might just put atv winch in your search engine and do some homework.

 

Thanks. Unfortunately it isnt a 4x4 and that is why i am looking for a winch. I've been looking but thought I would try here to see if anyone had one on their 300 and where they got it at.

WARN/Superwinch used to make custom fit mounting bracket for your P300. Check with either WARN/Superwinch directly or your local Kawi dealer to see if you can still order one. If no one carries anymore, or if it is too expensive (usually around $100), make your own as I did on my 750 (rear mount - great for pulling logs or other stuff) using 1/4" thick aluminum T304 Aluminum plate.

 

You will really enjoy your new prairie 300 my wife has one also and we both enjoy riding it. It has really been put thru the tests and for a mid sized bike it performs like a big one. I bought her mounting plate for a warn 2.5 winch on ebay. I believe shipping and all was $32.00. Sorry I do not remember the brand name but it fit the bike perfect. It also tucks up well inside the front bumper assy. I will try to get some pictures today and post them for you. I also bought a mouting bracket for my 360 on ebay but it did not have a way to mount the roller fairlead as the 300 bracket did. Something you should look at before you buy one. I had to make a seperate bracket for the roller fairlead on my 360.

I have a 1999 Prairie 300 4x4,,,,,,,,, I put on a Ramsey 2500lb winch that I bought off of ebay, works great. Good luck with the bike, no complaints from mine.

 

I love my winch mount on my P400, it wraps around it and protects it. The looks are a plus also. An old Warn 2000 that I got for free has been working just fine for me.
