Dynatec FS Ignition
I was looking on ebay at a dynatec ignition module. I heard somewhere that there are two diferent generations of this due to water casuing issues with them. Is there a way to tell if it is the generation 2 or not? THanks. Oh it is going on my New Brute Force 650 SRA by the way

Not to try and sound like a know it all but to my knowledge dyna dosen't make a module they make cdi's. Modules only eleminate the slow speed timing retard from the factory. Although they are great for wheelies they don't give you anything beond 5-6 mpr. A cdi on the other hand advances the timing curve throughout the entire rpm range giving you more power from 1/4 to wide open throttle. They also increase spark energy, do away with the "limp mode", and do away with the reverse limiter. Modules are good at what they do but cdi's are alot better performane adder. I have had a dyna cdi since early 04 and have never had any trouble with water or anything else for that matter. I do know that the VDI brand of cdi's had some issues with water when they first came out but then VDI came out with their 2nd generation to take care of that problem. If your considering a cdi you will be pleased with the performance increase and I would recomend them over modules any day of the week. Hope this helps
