I'm thinking of widening the footprint of my kfx 400. Will the stock front shocks need to be replaced if I were to add a new A Arm, say +2, up 0?

 

if you get long travel a-arms then yes u need new shocks. if u get regular ones that are plus 2 then your stock ones are fine.

 

thanks for your reply. i just want a wider stance for my bike like the suzuki ltz450. my next question is: will there be a difference in stance when using either the regular travel vs. the long travel a arms?

 

Now with the added arms, your shock ratio will change. I would suggest sending them off for a revalve for the longer arms. It may not be necessary, depending on what you are doing with the bike and your skill level.

Mine are Alba (made by epic) +2 +1 standard travel arms. They serve their purpose.

I wish I would've went with long travel now though.
