Default Engine Oil question?

Never changed the oil on my Brute before, but tired of getting taken to the cleaners by the dealers. Any recommendations as to what brand and grade oil should be used? It's a 2006 Brute Force 750

Default Engine Oil question?

I would use some Royal Purple or some Amsoil. I use both in different atvs and vehicles and have had great luck with both. the book should tell you what weight to use but I think 10w-40 is for the kawi v twins.

Default Engine Oil question?

I have a 650V2, with a kawi engine, and use 0-40 Amsoil fourstroke synthetic oil. It is, IMO, the best your money can get

Default Engine Oil question?

Hey V2 I am going to try some amsoil in the rear end of my Kawi. Have you ever used the hydraluic fluid in your rear before? I think it will be better than the kawa chem stuff.

Default Engine Oil question?

As for the gear oil, i use 80-90 weight Amsoil Synthetic, and love it.

As for the oil filter, i also use Amsoil, for a 650Vtwin, its eao103 i believe. I know the numbers are 103 in the end, thats the important part. If you use amsoil oil, and their filter, you gain an advantage to having extended drain intervals. I know a guy who has over 3,000 miles on his same oil and filter and says it still looks fairly clean. I would NOT reccomend this. But i would bet you can get 1,000 miles easy out of the change. Its a little spendier, at about 40 bucks delivered, but well worth the quality of the filter and oil. I have Amsoil Synthetic in my front, and rear differential, and my regular oil, and my grease for my winch is amsoil grease. My honda fourtrax runs like new, and its 14yrs old, running amsoil. You wouldnt believe how clean the motor is. I will use amsoil over anything else, and am a firm believer in its quality

Default Engine Oil question?

Does your AC have the brake sealed in the back diff V2? I was under the impression if it was a wet brake system I had to use the tractor/ hydraulic brake fluid from amsoil. Maybe I am mistaken and I can use the 80-90.

You should check your manual to be safe on what they reccomend, but i believe Amsoil products are compatible

Default Engine Oil question?

You should look at kawieriders .com to see what filters you can use with that motor. I used to use a car filter on my V-Force because it was the same size screw on filter has a 93 Mazda MX-6. Also you can use whatever weight oil the book recommends (10W-40 probably). I used to use regular 10W-40 auto oil in my V-force. You don't have to use motorcycle oil as it's not a wet clutch system, you oil is just going to the engine anyway.
