A Brand New BF will get lousy MPG, it should improve as the miles are put on.
My BF750 has the Moose Module, 25" Radial tires & 1500 miles. My MPG is 17 on any avg days ride.
When New I was getting 11mpg on a Avg.
Switch Gas Brands too, my BF does even better with Chervon Gas, I use the 88 octane as 87 is NOT available here.

I have been informed from a couple of owners of the 750i
that they are gas guzzlers and you will have to pack a lot
of extra gas if going on a long trail ride.
The 650i however is much better for fuel ecomony.
My own experience was a 7 hour 100km (62miles) trail ride in which
I still had a 1/4 tank of gas left when done.
