I don't mean to ask a stupid question.....but...what would win in a drag race, a stock kfx 700 vs a kfx400 with a yoshi exhaust, jet kit, open airbox, procom cdi, and 13 tooth front spocket? Thanks...try not to beat me up too much....

 

Im not really sure what would happen if a stock one raced on with those mods. I know with the mods I have, I would beat a 400 like that, but stock I dunno. I would have to think that the 700 would still win but it wouldnt be a runaway by no means.

 

the 700 would still have a 1-3 bike lead, for 400s to beat the 700 it takes quite a few mods

 

I guess i better order up a 453 big bore kit and web cams then...

Y? I don't like the ltr. I have ridden 2 of them and I don't think they are that great. I don't feel like they are hardly faster than mine.

 

Im sure they would out accellerate my KFX but I dont know about top end. With the gearing and those little tires im not sure. If I get beat on my KFX by an LTR i will get sand blast it with the shee [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

I just think the LTR is over rated. It easily get owned by 450rs and yfz's. I a suzuki fan, but I'm just stating what I know. Plus its to wide to trail ride where I ride at. It won't fit through the rails to get to the trails. There is a maximum bike width and its just a lil wider. Plus spending 7 grand on and atv then having to mod it is out for me. I feel alot better about the 2500 i spent on buying my kfx and put a few dollars into it. I don't MX, I trail ride mostly and sometimes drag at the dunes. Reverse is a must have.Im not trying to trash the LTR, but its just not for me. I think a kfx has just as much potential to go as fast in a straight line.

 

I hear ya there, im not trying to trash it either. I dont even have one so i cant say anything negative about it. Im like you, it gets owned by the YFZ so why spend 7k on it.

 

That 400 you describe should win easily by about 1-3 bikes depending on the rider...

My father has an '04 KFX700 and I have an '05 KFX400....

We have raced dozens of times.....

Stock versus stock we are pretty close to even but I pull away once I hit about 4th gear....

He's done a couple light mods and mine is still stock and he beats me now by about 1-3 bikes.......

But we've raced a couple times against a guy with an 05 z400 with jet kit and full Yoshi system and the z400 smokes both of us pretty well by about 3-5 bikes.........

A lot depends on the length of the race too....
