Default OK - what aftermarket shocks should I put on my bf750???

Actually I found that engagement of the 4WD system on the Brute could happen anywhere within a range of between 2 and 10 feet but the norm seemed to be closer to the 10 foot range. This isn't so good if you suddenly find yourself stuck. I have been in situations where I was exploring (in sections of my farm that was overgrown with brush) and found I couldn't go any further. I was going downhill at the time as well. But when I tried to back up all I'd do was spin the rear wheels so on the Grizzly I just pushed the button then backed up without any problem. I've made it a point when on the Brute to go into 4WD ahead of time so I'd be ready if I needed it so I wouldn't have to worry about the "roll forward" engagement window.

I wouldn't think that removing the KEBC would be an acceptable solution for most people. I like to go fast too, but I like for the engine braking effect to be there when I let off the throttle, then if I need to stop quicker that's what the brakes are for...

removing the KEBS does not eliminate engine braking. it just makes it a lot smoother. it is easy to test for yourself. just unplug it for a test ride (the 2x4/4x4 light will flash, but will go back to normal when you plug it back in). mine will provide engine braking down to 2-3mph in low. it is not a go-fast mod for me, it is a reliability and comfort mod. i seldom go over 45 or 50 mph. i have ridden it this way in Moab and here in MT to over 10,000 feet and have never felt the need to put it back on.

but, yea. on a brute you really should plan ahead a little. but on any 4x4 atv, you should be in 4x4 for the downhills. this will eliminate sliding the rears and loosing control.

and, yes, the brute 4x4engagement should be instant. we can all agree about that. dunno what they were trying to do...
