Default What type of CDI??

Now that I got rims and tires, i'm wanting to get a CDI. I know of a few types out there such as Dynatek, Moose, Copperhead and the Highlifter box. I'm just wanting some feedback on your experiences with these and what one you would remommend. I priced the Dynatak at $176.99 on ebay which doesn't seem too bad. I don't want to spend much more than that unless there are dramatic differences. I want more power throughout the whole rpm range. Also, what is the difference between CDI and VDI. The guys on Brutecentral seem to like the Dynatek better.

vdi is the name of the company (velocity device inc.). some members complain of the dynatech in the 750's. i have the copperhead and it seems to work great no misses or stutters

The dynatek only has a slight miss when cold and when putsing around. If you get on the throttle like you should on a brute it has no problems. Just flat out power. The VDI is made by velocity devices, thus the name. Both are cdi's. I chose the dynatek because i was sick of waiting on vdi for months trying to get out of backorder. I also saved about $200.

Lately, moose has come out with a rebadged dynatek cdi ignition. Not sure what it costs, but normally when moose rebadges something they add a premium. Don't get this confused with the moose module. The module is for low end, but worth every penny. The HL box requires cutting and splicing wires. I would stay clear of it for that reason only.

save the money and get the VDI, i started first with the moose, fun wheelie power but thats its, The dyna if you do alot of slow technical trails riding will drive you insane with the misses. VDI bit more money but runs much better all the way through

i have a dynatek. it runs great no miss at all. an amazing gain in power. copperhead is a nice product, but if you dont do any modding or reprogramming of the copperhead than it is a waste of money. moose module, highlifter module, dg5 module, are nice if you only want some extra low end power. my dynatek is fabulous, no more reverse override(nice for plowing), no more belt light or limp mode, and tons of power, i have now become addicted to wheelies!!!!
