I am rebuilding the top end on my lakota and am looking for some ideas on what to do. i have looked at four stroke tech and CWR engine mods. both have close to the same stuff. what i want to do is go with high compresion over bore piston, cam, valves, and carb. also probably an oil cooler and clutch springs. i am interested in some ideas on what would be the best set up.

ok get the 335 kit, port work, .420 cam, oversized valvs, hd springs, hd cam chain, 36mm mikuni round slide or 34mm flat slide and a big gun pipe. get kg clutch springs and fiber plates and get vesrah steel plates....if you dont want to go with the 335 kit then get the .040 over hi comp piston, ive had one in my bike for over a year and it gave it some good power and i just tore it down for a 335 kit and port work and the hi comp piston still looks like it just came out of a box..... i would get the parts from cwr, they have much more of a selectioin and alot more time and research in the parts where as fst just kinda makes parts from other bikes work on the lakota....also mohawk on the other fourms does great engine work if you want to send the engine out. If you want take a look at my list of mods for some general ideas.

what was the total cost for all you engine mods. the piston, cam, valves, cam chain, port work, anything else i missed. i really don't want to sink a lot of money into a lakota since it won't ever perform like the newer performance quads

the total for my rebuild was $900 plus shipping but i got a bottom end rebuild too so for you it should only be about $600

Should've went with your advice, but I don't have the patience to send it out, have him work on it, and send it back.
