Default K&N Air Filter 06 Kawasaki Brute Force 650I

Guys,

I'm pondering replacing the stock air filter in my 06 BF 650I with a K&N filter. Will i need to re-jet the bike due to the increase in air flow?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is a good chance you will have to ritchin things up after installing the new k&n.

Sweet.. Thanks for the info. I'm think i'm going to hold off a little on the Air Filter, at least until my warranty runs out since I'll have to rejet

you do not have to rejet with k&N filter brutes are set rich from factory me 7 other guys all run k&ns never rejeted

plugs were still alittle black after filter was put in my dealer recomended k&n filter for better filtration will not void warranty ask v2rider he has talked to several people on here on these filters

I would not tell anyone they do not need to rejet after adding more air flow. For one reason. You don't know what jetting they have in there atv. Its far safer to be rich than to be lean. Atleast when your rich you have a second chance. Being lean can be a hazard to your quads health and your pocket book.

K&N rule of thumb: You dont have to rejet for the K&N filter. I didnt, and neither did countless others. A filter alone will not allow enough air in to damage your quad, not even close. Most people can put an aftermarket filter, and line the box with a few low boys before noticing the are lean. I am more referring to Kawi engines than anything else, as they are typically rich from the factory to start with. But i know a few bom, and yamaha owners who have Filters and didnt need a rejet.

I do not want to start an argument. Alls I am saying is we don't know how his atv is jetted in the first place. It could have already been re jetted and it mite just be on the edge as far as being lean. If it were. Then yes adding more air flow could cause a melt down. Would it? We don't know, but it dang sure could cause some problems.
