Default New with some 1rst time questions!

Hi all. I'm going to purchasing my 1rst four wheeler and I have a couple few questions. My first is about reliability of the 2005 Kawasaki BF 750. I'm looking at one with 220 miles with all the goodies, winch, plow, backrest thing, and some others. What would be a good price for this. It's in great condition so the guy says. My other concern is starting in the cold and in altitude. I live in Colorado and this will be used in the cold. What should I look for when buyung this particular machine? Or should I just buy a new 06/07 650i. I'm real torn as to what I need and or want. I know that 650+ is way to much for my level, but I know I will use it before long. I'm 6-5 185 and I know the limits. I was also thinking about kadiak but not sure.. This will be used for work, and fun. Speed is not an issue (have that covered with car)just dont want a slug and dont want to spend more than 6.8k max.

Anyway any help or input would be great..

Bill

The 05 bruteforce had some issues as with every first model year atv. If all the issues were delt with im sure the atv would be fine. The new 06 and up bf 650 I atvs have better handling due to some front end. Others will chime in with the exact 05 issues. A tip for having a kawasaki atv though, make sure you use LOW gear as much as possible to keep the belt in good shape. That helps reliability. Use low when, pulling, plowing, climbing, mudding, and going slow(10-15 mph or lower). Good luck

What would a fair price be for this machine?

Default New with some 1rst time questions!

Perfect Example:
I have a '05 BF750 4sale & mine has 1500 miles/110 hours. Stock belt, Rear hard case, Brand new Stock Tires, upgraded KTM265 Tie-rods/ends, New Spider Hand Grips, Powermadd Team Green Handguards w/extenders, Team Green Color, Special Decals (New Belt included).
Kelly Bluebook is $5575, mine is going at $5200.
So what does the Dealer want on the 750i? Don't let the low mileage be a factor here, bluebook is bluebook.
Now get your Dealer to give you the Best price on the 650i. Be sure the 750i recalls(2) were done. A extended warranty will not be available w/the '05 unless it has one right now. (On Ebay a extended warranty can be had for super low prices for the 650i), if you feel better w/getting the extra warranty coverage.
Call around to other Colorado Dealers as well, you may even find a better Deal on the 650i.
The 650i will out handle the '05 750. The 650i has a updated front end which allows it too handle better, steer lighter & just a better feel to it overall. That being said, the '05 750 is still a contender, the handling is still good enough for most riders.
Rejet either 4wheeler, I went just one-step in jetting & ride Colorado (Lake City area & Taylor Park Reservior) with no problems at all, as high as 14,000 ft. Here in NM I live at 7300ft elevation, so the one-step in jetting works perfect here too.
My 750i has been 100% reliable but it is very important to follow the suggestions from "alwaysride", use Low range 4x4 below 15mph in trail riding with climbs, plowing or towing.
Get the extra power that the 650i/750i vtwin motor offers over the Kodiak.
Both of my rejetted BF750s start w/ease in the Winter months.
