Default KX 125 1999 buying tips please.....

Hi guys & gals!
I'm looking at buying a 1999 KX 125.
Unseen as of yet.
The seller wants R 3 500 (US$ 440) for it.Full FMF pipe,new clutch too.
He says front brake hydraulics has a leak, mild buckle on front wheel.
What should I look out for?
I'll be seeing the scoot for first time Friday 22nd @ lunchtime (GMT).
Any opinions, facts or thoughts are wanted....please.
Thanks.

Default KX 125 1999 buying tips please.....

Hi...again.
I've bought the bike.R2000 (US$250).
Seems to be in good nick, pipe is not FMF but a Pro-Circuit.Twin-Air foam filter too.
The spark plug needed re-gapping,runs well now.
Only question is that I'm finding coolant in the tranny oil.Where do I start looking?
Many thanks!
Benjamin.

well thats not good about the coolant and it could lead to tons of problems with the bottom end depending on how long its been like that but for 250 bucks u cant go wrong......first replace the seal behind the water pump impeller and that will most likely do it....if not that then it will be a o ring where the clutch cover meets the case half and coolant passes thru the tube, the oring could be bad. I reccomend spending about 25-40 bucks and getting a complete gasket kit.....if all of the above fails then look for cracks in the covers and cases but the impeller seal is most common.....dont drive the bike untill things are taken care of and make sure you flush the oil and coolant system real good.....post som pics of this if possible, im curious to see what you got for 250 bucks.

Hi there!
Thanks for the advice.Seller did mention seal but was too lazy for repairing it.Similar bikes here fetch up to $2k(same model & cond).
Guy lost interest.Plenty of bikes available here at brilliant prices.
I'll take it in when the w'shop is open in new year.
I see you have bead-lockers on your quad,a manufacturer here in South Africa is engineering a dual or twin bead-locker,ie:both sides.Should be out in early 07(about R600 - R750 each, depending on finish & bike). He does wheel spacers too and just introduced a GRP (Glass Re-inforced Polymer) wheel spacer. It's one-third lighter than alli & stronger too!
Prices are around R250 per set of two for GRP & R300 for alli.(R8 - $1)Excl VAT @ 14 % & p&p&ins.
Maybe I should export to you guys out there...
Have a good one!
From a hot & sunny South Africa!
Benjamin.

Had a 1998 kx125. Nice little bikes. Yeah get the coolant sorted. After I got mine rebuilt the guy put a rad hose on crooked, the bike leaked coolant and toasted the brand new top end!!!! But the barrel was still usable, couldn't kill that thing LOL!
