Default Are 27s too big for a P300?

I was looking for a set of used alloy to put a set of 25"s to put on my 99 Prairie 300 4x4. In the search, I found a set of 27"s on alloys. DO you guys think there is any chance of making these work?? Not sure if they are too tall and heavy. ANy opinions are appreciated. Thnaks, Mark

Even if those big 26" wheels fit on your 300, you will be suffered by added unsprung weight and increased diameter of the wheel. You will defitnitely see decreased performance, acceleration and top speed. Actually you will be lugging the engine and it would hardly reach its maximum rpm. Then there will be an added wear and tear on CVT system, like accelerated wear on the belt and surface of the converter sheaves. The gain/benefit with the big wheels would be macho look, higher ground clearance and overall better traction/braking. It's really up to you to make your priorities and decide. I would stay with the OEM size but go with radial tires.

Thanks, I'm mostly motivated by the deals I'v efound. I can get used 27"s on alloys for the same price as new 25s.

I've dealt with lifting & locking trucks and such, but not the ATVs. I really don't know much about 4wheelers and what's reasonable. I'm not an agressive rider, so I wasn't sure if this was doable or not.

Thanks for advice!

27" tires may be Doable but you'll probably think you are riding a 110cc Quad. Mud sucks power in addition to the extra 120+ lbs of rotating tire mass. You will need power your 300 does not have to spin them to clean them. Heavy agressive tires are seldom recommended for quads under 500cc's. Even my 700 Prairie would be tasked with 27" tires in sticky deep mud from a standing start.

Thanks. I was hoping someone would tell me that 27s would be ok. I a CAB ( cheap a$$ ba$tard), so I was ready to jump on a nice set of used 27s.
