Default Kfx 700 Rod bearing question

Hey everyone its been a while since i posted on here as my bike has been down since the end of summer. Now its finally being worked on and was realized that i need rod bearings on the rear piston where the crank meets the rod.I need to know if this involves SPLITTING THE CASES or can it be done with just the cylinders removed.I ask this because the cylinders are out being worked right now,as we had only thought that the rings were bad on the front piston.( I was VERY dumb and let her run low on oil on a 95 degree day).So hence im paying for it now.I really hope that we can do this without splitting the cases,as that involves alot more time and money. Please let me know what you guys think,JAKE

You have to remove the primary and seconary clutch, the starter motor... the works... bascily when you get through you will know how to completely dissaemble the motor.

Ok so i go ahead and remove the clutches, and starter, but will the motor have to come out of the bike and be split in half?As in complete motor teardown just to relace the bearing?Thats what im after, and im hoping that it does not turn that way,let me know..

Badassz, I'm no expert, but I'm afraid based on what you described your going to have to tear it all the way down. If that's not your thing and your buddies aern't up to the task, you may just have to suck it up & send it into your local Kawi dealer. Suggestion, if this is what has to be done while it's apart you may want to do some engine mods at this time. Your really only looking at part cost. Good Luck...
