Thanks everyone for the posts, as much as I like to looks of the KFX 450, and as much as I like Kawasaki I just can't wait for this bike to come out. The Raptor seems like a great quad and the SE has the YFZ shocks which are supposed to be really good.

Thanks again for your time and your help.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Congrats man! That is a great price for a SE OTD. Let us know how you like it after you put some seat time on it.

Just to let you all know, I ended up getting the Raptor 700 SE. The black, orange, and silver look of the SE is really nice, I just didn't like the all white GYTR.

As for the KFX450, my dealer told me that it will be released as a 2008 model year vehicle. He also said that he thinks they are not going to get them in until the end of summer, maybe August timing. Not to good for Kawasaki, they must have run into a serious problem to delay it that long.

Anyways, that all for your time and your posts.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Why not consider suzuki R450 in decision since it is also fuel injected ??? Am asking because my debate is also between 700 raptor, the KFX450, and the R450. For some reason I was thinking the KFX450 was going to be much lighter than the Suzuki but apperently not (364 vs. 368 lbs respectively). So, since the R450 is now on its second year I would assume it should be highly considered. Anyone know of any issues with this bike and if there were improvements in the '07 model ??? It is actually for the wife and sand usage ... she has a KFX700 now and does great on it but she has learned the clutch on my Rap 660 and watching the KFX700 roll over her a few times in enough but she has not been hurt. Any reasons I should not just go ahead and get her the '07 Suzuki R450 ??? It is essentially the same except EFI change as the as the KFX450, right ??? thanks .... thought I would ask here as suprisingly not much on the Suzuki forum and this is more nuetral anyways. Sorry, i am just starting my research ...

twvette,

I did look at the LTR450 a little, I am just not a fan of Suzuki though. After talking to a lot of people and getting their opinions concerning the 700cc quad vs. a 450cc quad I came to the conclusion that the 700cc Raptor is the best decision for thoes of us that are not racing. One other thing, I don't think the LTR450 has reverse, if your going to be on tight trails, you are going to need reverse.

I just picked up the Raptor SE (black and orange) and I think it is an awsome quad. It has great suspension and the handles a lot better than the KFX700. I still have to dial in the suspension a little more, but I like it so far.

I think (and this in my opinion) you should really look at the Raptor. Get the SE or the GYTR though, you are going to want the suspension upgrade that comes with these two machines.

I know what you mean about the other rooms. It seems like the only people that reply on this forum are in the Kawasaki room; what a great bunch of people.

Good luck with your decision, if I can be of any further help let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Sorry about the screw-up Jefflesh, but I was trying to figure this out...Saw your post and wanted to let you know that I was considering the same quads back in October. All the research I did led me to the Raptor 700r SE for a trail quad (so did the awesome looks!). I moved up from a Suzuki z400 and wow what a difference. Not sure if you've been on trails or not yet, but it reminds me of driving a caddy. Well...enjoy, I have been!

P.S. That was a great price...mine was $6,700. Lucky.
