Default 05 750 brute breakin (easy or hard) ???

I got a good deal on a new 0 miles brute force. The owners manual say easy for the first 10 hrs. I have heard by others to hit it hard to set the rings and seals.
How should it be done??
Thanks, scotth

I went by what Kawasaki says just because they will be fixing my bike under warranty if it breaks, not some other guy who said that you should run it hard right out of the box. Just my .02

a little bit of reading on this subject:

http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/NewBike.html#BreakIn

these guys both have lots of expereience breaking in bikes and pretty much agree to break in hard.

I have always rode mine easy for the first few miles just to make sure everything is working properly and not over heating. Then watch out. I drive it like I stole it. I have used this method on my snowmobiles and my atv's and mine have run just a little better than my friends who breaks hi in by the book. I think the main thing to watch out for is to make sure you don't get it to hot.

Thanks for all the input guys! Montyh, Looked at those articles and I'm sold. I just hope it is not to late for my machine. I have 12 mi. and they are putting around with my 3yr old son. I live in a neighborhood so until I
get a chase to take it somewhere, should I drive it in low to make the engine run harder?

it seems to be the load on the engine that seats the rings, more than the rpm. that's kinda how i understood it. i broke mine in riding in deep snow. i had a hard time finding room to do WOT runs, too, but did wherever i could.

another thing is to change the oil, like right now. i waited for the ten hours and cut the old filter apart. there was a lot of metal (from assembley, i hope). i wish i would have changed the oil after the first hour or two.

Montyh, thanks again! I got some new oil today and will not ride until have a chance to change it . I am also not going to idle around the yard like I have with my son. I've only 10 miles on it so next start-up will be
WOT. That is ofcourse after a few minutes warm-up. I'm just going to do things as if I started out with zero miles. The night that I brought it home I hit it hard two or three time down my street. I felt bad about that then, but now I'm glad I did!
