Default valve adjustment for a lakota sport 300 (2002)

Could anybody please tell me how to adjust my valves,is it hard to do, I don't have a service manual. is there anyway to get the manual online for free? Do I have to take the motor out of the atv or is it just like a cover I can take off. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.. THANKS

I would buy a manual, cheapest place to get one is online at denniskirk or rockymountain for around 35-40 bucks but ill try to explain it to you real quick. Take off the fenders and gas tank, pull start, timing plug and cam chain cover. Turn the pull start pawl bolt untill you see a T with a line next to it on the timing marker, this sets it at top dead center which is very important. Then take off the cam caps and check with a feeler gauge...the intake should be .006 and ehausts is .004. The gauge should slide in and out with some restance.....if they are not ajust accordingly and recheck.
