Uh yeah, go with the Kaw. Got a P700 myself. Polaris, yamaha, suzuki and Honda owners realy hate this thing. Makes them wish they had one.

Yeah im not a huge fan of the AWD system anymore. I fix peoples quads for them and i have seen just too many go bad. They made a aluminum cage, and now they changed the design and went to a PLASTIC cage. Now tell me how a plastic cage will stand when your hundreds miles from home and you get the slightest bit of strain on your drivetrain, and that cage gets mended up in the gears. I think they ruined the design. The aluminum was a better design I think.

But what do you guys think of the overall kawasaki 4x4 design? reliable?

My cousins '04 kawi 360s 4x4 button went bad, and he put a manual T handle on it to engage and disengage.

Like others have said, you are comparing apples and oranges. The V-twin powerplant in the 650i will pull away from the Popo and never look back. I think the P500 would more fairly be compared to the new Big Bear 400 with IRS or the new Suzuki KQ 450 with IRS (though I think both would have more power/torque than the P500).

I have owned my 650i for a little over a year now, and I love this thing. The power is unbelievable, the ride is compliant (though certainly not as plush as a Polaris), and mods are widely available to push the envelope.

Just my .02.

the reason polaris changed the tha cage from aluminum to plastic is when the aluminum broke every thing around it broke aswell that doesnt happen with the plastic.the plastic is way weakier and breaks fastier i would keep the aluminm anyway.im dont know if this is true but the cage is used to hold the gears in place.i hear of the cage breaking when people do donuts in the snow and the front wheels engage.i own a polaris magnum 325 i think its great it does what i need it to.if im going to get a new quad me i would go with the polaris sp800 because i had no problems with my polaris yet.

i heared of one trick that people do to get more speed and power out of the bf750 is putting the cdi from a bf650
on bf750

well im amazed at all the problems that polaris has but not one single problem from the bf 650 or the 750. hhmm. i gues that both my friends w/ the bf 650 and the other one w/ the 05 and now 07' bf 750 problems must be a fluke. any way you look at it the bf 650 shouldnt even be compared to a sp. 500. the bf has v twin vs single not to mention alot alot more cc's. just my own opinion.

Not sure what you mean about no problems with the BF750. I had one for about a year and a half. I had 4 recalls on it. Carbs constantly backfired through the air box. When you rode it in snow you may as well take the lid of the airbox it filled up with snow so bad. The absolute worse riding, worse handling (even with ATR's on Type-C's) of any IRS machine bar none. In fact my wife?s 500 ATP rode beater and it's a straight axel. The ergonomics of the machine were not that great either, I thought I would get used to it but never did. It still felt like I was kneeling on the seat you sit so high on it. Despite all the bad press I just gave the Kawi it did have one heck of a holeshot (added a Dyna CDI). Now before I hear how much beter the 07? models are, don?t bother a friend of mine got a new one right after Christmas ( very cool looking blue). The only thing I have noticed is they improved the steering radius, the ride and handling is still sub-par on the 750 when compared to other IRS machines. Can?t speak to the 650 maybe its better since it sits a little lower. Never rode one to comment.

and like your Can Am is a reliable $10,000 turd.............Not....All machines have their fault. You ask in a Kawasaki section, you are going to get nothing but good things about Kawasaki. I own a Kawie because I like it. If I didn't, I would buy something else.

I have found the biggest beef I have with both of my Brute 750s, 1st the '05 & now the '007 are the Shocks are too stiff for my riding needs. Change the shocks out to a set of the WORKS like I did & then these Brute 750s are a awesome handling 4wheeler. The tippy feeling disappears as the height is lower by a 1 inch, fast corners are a breeze w/No body roll, fast riding on tight trails is a blast. The WORKS shock's frt to rear work w/each other giving a much smoother ride & excellent rebound & dampening. Even the seat is softer vs the earlier BF's.
The Handling in stock set-up is much improved on the '007 BF750 vs the '05 BF750 I had. I had no seroius problems with the '05 BF, just 2 recalls that any Kawie Dealer took care of, 1st the frt-end A-arm bolt which my '05BF did not have this problem & then the tie-rods, which I fixed myself w/a set of the Diamond G/KTM265 Tie-rod kit.
4x4 engagement works everytime I hit the button, mostly right at 1-3mph, disengages also very easy, no stopping needed. The Variable front dif-loc works excellent..
I owned the '05 BF750 for 2 yrs, 100% pleased with the Brute, so much I didn't even think twice about getting something else, I went ahead & got another Big Brute 750..
