Default KFX 700-How is it?

I am about to get my first atv. I mostly trail ride but I want something fast as well. I was looking into getting a wolverine 450 and realized for the same price range I could get a KFX 700. So just wondering if I got one and kept it stock how fast is it? Is it too much for a first atv? And I notice that it is auto so how does that effect it? If i get the wolve i would most likely put the following into it -K&N air filter If i do decide to get the KFX I dont want to get crazy with
-DYNOJET jet kit with upgrades. So if you have a KFX 700 please give me your
-EPI clutchkit opinion. And if you have both thats even better.

Ive got both machines so I know a bit about them. It doesnt matter what you do to the wolvy, it will never touch a stock KFX. If you put a 30 dollar spring in the KFX it wakes it up quite a bit, so if you want a fast trail machine, thats fun to ride, get the KFX. If you want to stay a little dryer and go where two wheel drive wont go, get the wolvy. I love both machines. I use my kfx for most everything I do, unless im working around the ranch where the creeks are, or if its all snowy, then I bust out the wolverine. Quite honsetly, for a trail machine I would get the KFX. The auto doesnt hurt it at all, it will still stand straight up on command, and for a first bike will be plenty for you. If you get a KFX, dont get the LE plastic, it sucks and breaks. Check out www.700v.com, gives you some good info about the V. Good luck with your choice, and if you need to know more about the KFX let me know. I can hit you up with pics or what ever you need.

Both machines are great. It is nice havin four wheel drive though. I got a 700 and I can almost go where our other 4x4s go. I got some 589 tires on the rear and it will definately go anywhere. The 700 is a very user friendly machine. Easy to take care of too. I havent had any probs with mine. Stock, they are quick, but there are some things you can do to it to wake it up more when yer ready for it. Definately stick to the green or orange plastic. Other plastics are junk but look awesome.

since it's your first quad, just remember this,

-dont punch the throttle and go wide open your first ride-the front end will lift up, especially if your sitting on the gas tank (gas tank is in the back =Q

Ive never ran a v, but I am about to purchase a new kawi very soon, and I demo rode a 650 and 750 BF SRA and they are probably what your looking for. Very fast and sporty. Managable also. 4x4 and fast.

Brute are nice machines, but they will work you over in 4x4. Great bikes though.

Where do you go from here ? You got the straight shooter "KFXandaHemi" and various implies. What do you want to do ? Casual riding, fun with the kids ?....... Sorry, gotta leave, my wife just said "I'm done"... Take the KFX700, it won't let you down and it has huge potential.....Take a chance...
