Max Weight on Rear Rack of BF750 or BF650
#1
What's the max weight (approx) that you've ever carried on the back rack of a BF750 or BF650? I know that Kawasaki advertizes that the load capacity of the rear is 176 lbs. but if you were to carry out a friend whose ATV broke down that weighed 265 lbs or other cargo would the structure take it? I remember seeing a picture of someone carrying out an Elk which even if gutted would weigh many times the 176 lbs.

I dont know how your racks are set up. Arctic Cats are bolted directly through to the frame. Ive stacked 6 60lb bags of concrete on the front and back when i was building my deck, and drove them around to the back of my house. Thats 360lbs on each rack, and it handled it fine. I wont ever need to do it again, but i think it would have handled more

The 750 and 650 IRS has a slightly weaker design of the rear rack compared to 650 straight. If you compare them side by side looking from back, you would know what I mean. The 750 and 650 IRS do not have much support at the far side ends. If someone sits there and rides along, it surely will bend downward.

v2rider and Hayashi,
That is the type of feedback I need! When I receive my BF750 that I ordered I'll look at all weak areas and see if I can beef them up with lightweight but extremely strong 4130 Chromoly Alloy Tubing like that used in Gen Av aircraft . I can carry the load through to the basic weight bearing frame structure under the plastic. Whatever I do would have to be easily removable for field maintenance. Just some thoughts for the future. I always believed if it was built by man it can be modified by man (or woman)!
