BF 650 and 650i Gas mileage
#1
What kind of numbers are these two machines getting.. or the range per full tank. I noticed the 650 has a smaller tank (3.4gal) than the 650i (4.5gal) but also has smaller carbs does this account for much of a difference? I am trying to decide what machine to get and would rather the solid axle, but not if it has a much smaller range than the other.. I hate to be lugging gas around everywhere I go..
I did search for this topic but seemed to only find topics on the 750 and older Praries.. so some current info would be great

I can help ya out there partner. The 650i has larger carbs but the gas mileage doesnt really worsen enough to matter. Just don't make the same mistake I made and not be filling up your gas tank all the way. Lol, when i first got my 650i i was getting the last blinking bar on my gas gauge at like 45miles, needless to say pissed off lol. Well, the brute gas tanks have a terrible pressure release, and turns out i was nowhere close to having a full tank of fuel while i was riding, just enough for the gauge to read full bars. I kept pooring gas in the tank the next time until it would not drain back down into the tank at all and was so full gas was setting at the rim of the cap, resulting in about 70miles to a tank depending on how your right thumb is acting up good ridin -joe

Thanks a lot, that doesn't sound so bad.. As for filling it up, I'll keep that in mind.. The older posts were talking about a white insert that, when removed, allowed much more gas to be taken in much quicker. I am assuming you did the same thing.
