Well guys i finally purchased an 07 black brute force 650 straight axle i got a fantastic deal $5995 OTD and this thing is awesome. This is the first atv i have owned and i love it. I have a couple questions for you guys what if any precautions should i take with this thing? Are there any problem areas i need to be aware of or anything? Also i did not get an extended warranty on the quad but the dealer said i have up to 6 months to decide on that but it seems very expensive to me $610 for 3 years and $680 for 4 years are these warranties really worth it? Does the dealer and or kawi honor them or try to deny your warranty claims like most auto manufacturers do? Also what mods are out there for this atv and what kind of gains can one expect from them i am just curious as i am totally new to ATV's. And finally when do you take it back to the dealer for the first service, and after the first service can you just service yourself or will that void any warranties?

That's a pretty loaded post. First of all congrats on the new ATV. I have never purchased a warranty on my bike, however I have friends that have bought seperate insurance from like all-state for $10 a month. Seems like a good idea to me. As far as taking it back to the dealer for "tune ups" I do it myself. Everything they do can be done very easily by yourself. The only thing I take my in for is valves or re-jetting. Check your owners manual for where your oil drain plug is, then chang your own oil. I change mine all the time. I don't think anyone every hurt their ATV for changing the oil too much!
