Minky I am sorry this forum got so far off part my fault.I have a new KFX 450 and if I was you I would buy the Raptor just for the sake it is a for shure thing. If you dont mind waiting for the pipes and stuff to come out I think this KFX is going to be really good possibly the best but only time will tell.It isnt fast right out of the box but it can hold its own.It is easy to control corners and jumps well probably better than the stock Raptor unless you get the one with the better shocks. The center of gravity is better on the KFX it is going to be really good in the woods. But for now the Raptor will be very good for what you are saying.Just my take and I have a KFX 450.I had a 2003 Raptor recently sold it to get the KFX

Inny minni miny moe; take your frigin pick ...Everyone knows there're all de-tuned out the box. Just look at the Suz 450R. A slug out the gate, but a few adjustments it wakes up quick. Same with the fat KFX700, some tweaks here and there and the bike wakes up.....Just pick your poison and have fun with it. I don't car what you buy, but if you want to race or compete get ready to dump some dollars. But I will add, of all the bikes I've ridden over the years the best suppenson (out of the box)came from the Predator and Suz 450R. Thank god I put some descent Works shocks on my 04 KFX700. Now I hope you spend your money where your heart is because there will always be a bike that will flat spank anything you bring (unless you got 15K to spare). I do have some dollars into my 04 KFX700, and there is NO bike stock or modified under $1000.00 that can even come close.......Always watch for the pig (KFX700) you never know what they've done to that fat V-Twin.......

If you had any sense, you could read your own "floating valves" post and realize that you are far from a stock car mechanic, much less a tire changer.
