brute overheating

Default brute overheating

My 2006 BF 650I is overheating and using up alot of coolant.Fan is working and Brute does not smoke.Also i did have a lot of mud in my radiator.Could this be causing it to use so much coolant.

Clogged radiator on those engines is a very bad thing. You have to be sure to clean it after every ride and make sure its not caked. I didnt think that would cause the coolant to go down, but I guess its possible. Definitely clean the radiator though.

possible that you took out your head gaskets.

Think it might be water pump.Engine runs fine no smoke.Thanks for input.

Using up the coolant?
It has to go somewhere. It just can't disappear. It's either evaporating, overflowing, leaking, burning and smoking in the exhaust, mixing with engine oil or something. You need to find out where it is going.

Installing a coolant temp gauge is one of the best mods for water-cooled quads. I bought one for mere $10 from WalMart. The gauge face even lights up when headlight is turned on. Mine runs normally at around 190F when fully warmed up.

going out the overflow when it overheats due to the radiator bring plugged up, flush the radiator from the back side forward that should take care of it
