is it just one side sagging or are both sagging equal also how much are they sagging by. there are not any tricks to fix old shocks that i know of. so you may just have to replace them.

Howdy guys, my first post.

I noticed your problem and had just corrected mine today.
I have a '96 Bayou 220 that I purchased from a friend, the front tires kicked out at the bottom even with my young girl.

I had talked to several people about replacing the shocks $170.00 x 2 = not for me.
So, today I made two sets of plates, one set for each wheel. I use some material the same thickness as the mounting brackets.( an old gate hinge ) I drilled three holes, the top one matches the hole above where the shock is bolted, the second matched the hole the shock is bolted through and the next is 1" below the old hole. Doing it again, I would try 3/4 inch below.

I can place a 50 pound feed sack on the front rack, my dog 45# on the rear rack and my 260# and it rides with the tires a little in at the bottom. That is why I think 3/4 inch below the current hole would be about right. ( I'm not changing mine)

I used 1/4 bolt on the top hole with a lock nut, next is a 1/4 bolt with nine 5/16" washer as a spacer in the old shock mounting hole with locknut. Note: #1 put the 9 washers together and a piece of ducktape to hold them together. Note: #2 if you try the 3/4 inch spacing you may have to grind off some of one side of the washers for the shock to fit. Third hole one inch below and used the existing bolt and nut.

This may be clear as mud. I try to take a few pictures to show you.
Hope this helps.

Adjust the shocks stiffen them some first! Also, does the shocks sag when you are sitting on it or just looking at it? And what is your weight too? That all has a big part on it if you stiffen the shocks and it is still doing it push down on the front end and see if you can see the bike still rocking after you do it if it only does it a few times then the shocks are fine if it keeps it up then there is no way around it you need to buy new ones! Let me know how you make out!

well i am about 170 lb or so and i see it when i am just sitting on it or when my brother rides it and he is around 200lb and how would i go about stiffening the shocks. the only way to get the tires to straten out is by picking up on the front end

i think thats just how that quad is. i had a brand new 2001, and it was the same way. im thinking its set up that way to help with turning, as it doesnt have the best suspension/steering out there.

but whatever the reason, mine was the same, when new.
