Well I'm new to the forum. I just picked up my new bike last night and I love it. Its my first bike ever, and I just want to know what upgrades I can do to it, Looks, power?

im not going to lie, that looks bad as.s. !! congrats. im not really into mods so i coudlnt give to many suggestions. many a new pipe, nerf bars.

Any tips on breaking it in? The book said to ride 10 hours and half throttle before getting on it. But even ride half throttle this thing feels like a dog.

 

First thing I would do is new wheels and tires, nerf bars, and a matching helmet [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

the thing is with breaking it in, theres no for sure thing to do. some people believe to ride it liek your going to when you usualy do. some ride it slow. I imagine i woudl start slow just cuase i want to take care of it but a couple minnutes into it i woudl be going nuts on it. The thing shoudl hold up either way just ride it and have fun.

 

for breaking it in....In the first 20 miles or so i would just go through all the gears and rpm ranges, not stayin at one position for too long. I'd probably go wide open for a few moments, just enough to seat the rings properly.

your the first person i've ever heard say that a 450 quad seems slow when its their first quad ever. I'm guessing you've rode other 450s???

I'd get a full exhaust system, some sort of power modual for the EFI( not sure what company's make stuff for the kawi450 yet). Open that airbox up and you should be good to go for atleast awhile.

If i was you though i'd be keeping it stock for atleast a bit, get used to the stock power, then add some goodies then you will REALLY beable to tell the power difference.

I have never riden a 450r or any 4 wheeler before. I just think its not so fast. But maybe after I get up on it maybe it will. I'll mod it when I come back from Iraq. I'm just on leave right now and bought it because it looked cool. HHAAHA I got 6 more months in Iraq then I will have real fun with it.

What should I do to put it away for 6 months? fuel, battery, tires?
